W.Nr. 1.2162
Cemented steel, Mn and Cr alloyed, designed for forming of plastic materials, glassmaking and rubber industry. It features good machinability and polishability. The steel has good wear resistance after case-hardening, high surface hardness with the core toughness.
The steel is also nitridable, etchable, weldable.
The steel is qualitatively better than steel W.Nr. 1.7131 - 16MnCr5.
The steel is also nitridable, etchable, weldable.
The steel is qualitatively better than steel W.Nr. 1.7131 - 16MnCr5.
The steel is suitable for moulds for plastic materials of all sizes and universal machine parts suitable for case hardening. They are e.g. guide-pins, stamping tools for extrusion forms, pressing dies, gear wheels, pinion gears, gear racks, guiding bars, guiding skirtboards, case-hardened tools, measuring instruments and guiding lines.
