W.Nr. 1.2083
Anticorrosive martensitic chrome steel. Steel with high corrosion resistance, good machinability, dimensional toughness in the whole cross-section, and good resistance against mechanical damage. It is suitable for hardening with big cross-sections. If it works or is stored in wet climatic conditions, it does not need any special corrosion protection. Damaged surface can be repaired by welding. It is easy to polish and surface photo etching can be applied.
Specially applicable steel for forms which process chemically aggressive plastics (e.g. PVS) and plastics with abrasive effects, causing surface wear. It reaches high polishability and therefore it is perfectly suitable for forms for optical industry (e.g. lenses). Forms cooled by water do not experience rusting of cooling canals.
